Investors continue to monitor IPO pipeline for market opportunities
With an investor market driven to buy and sell in the wake of an ever growing pandemic, investors continue to monitor the IPO pipeline for beneficial opportunities.
Stockhead's article follows three experts in the fund management space: Davide Bosio and Rob Hallam from advisory firm Shaw & Partners, and leading fund manager Andrew Smith, head of small caps at Perennial Value.
Bosio has identified that Australia's IPO sector may be divided into two halves - pre and post stimulus.
“You need capital market strength and some positive investor sentiment to make these things work well. And there were one or two months there where those plans were well and truly on hold, but we’ve seen that change very quickly."
As a result of COVID-19, the healthcare, fintech, ecommerce, cloud services and gold sectors continue to flourish as the pandemic's narrative has accelerated their market growth.
“The world’s not in a great place, but financial markets look forward. So in a sense, whether it’s tomorrow or a year away, the view is we’ll recover from this and see company earnings start to build” says Bosio".
