Infinite Blue Energy (IBE) has recently been featured in Stockhead as a company who could benefit from the McGowan government's plans to implement a Renewable Hydrogen Target in Western Australia (WA).
The proposed Renewable Hydrogen Target is welcome news for companies like IBE, as there has been a lack of investment in this space.
In collaboration with the industry, the WA government will explore implementation options for the target, such as electricity consumers, producers of hydrogen, related industries and broader community.
Bill Johnston, WA Energy Minister says:
"A renewable hydrogen target may also prepare Western Australia to transition from natural gas electricity turbines to hydrogen turbines to stabilise the electricity grid"
This accelerates IBE's plans to produce renewable hydrogen. Using energy from solar and wind at the Arrowsmith Green Hydrogen Project in Perth, The Company is planning to produce up to 23 tonnes of hydrogen. The 23 tonnes of hydrogen will offset greenhouse gas emissions, according to IBE Chairman, Peter Coleman.

"The company is also developing the MEG HP1 green hydrogen plant in Northam, where it recently acquired the existing 11MW Northam Solar Farm.
This solar farm will power a 10MW hydrogen electrolyser and battery storage to produce up to 4t/d of hydrogen to support WA based waste management companies for use in back-to-base refuse collection vehicles and in fleet vehicles local to MEG H1."
